Guard martyred over armed attack on Municipal building in Raqqa

A tragic incident occurred last night in Tishreen town, as armed assailants targeted the municipal building. They vandalized and set fire to facilities and machinery, resulting in the death of the municipal guard, Mahmoud Muslim.

This is not the first such incident in the area. Similar acts of sabotage have occurred previously, including the burning of the courthouse in Raqqa city.

Various regions in North and East Syria have witnessed a series of attacks by armed cells. Recent incidents have included targeting security checkpoints and centers, many of which have been attributed to remnants of ISIS militants. These cells have been increasingly active as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and security forces are countering attacks of the Turkish state and its affiliated mercenaries.

On December 25, the internal security forces in North and East Syria confiscated weapons and ammunition in Raqqa as part of ongoing operations to combat ISIS sleeper cells. The forces praised the cooperation of local residents in uncovering these weapons, highlighting the importance of community support in maintaining security.
