Muammar Faisal Nahar, founder of the "Golan Forum for Construction and Development" and director of the "Al-Nahar" news platform, affirmed that the people of the Golan reject any talk of peace with Israel that does not guarantee the full Israeli withdrawal and the implementation of the related international resolutions.

In a statement to the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat," Nahar said: "We are currently holding continuous meetings and consultations to form an independent civil and political body composed of the people of the occupied Golan, which will coordinate with the Syrian state to be part of any expected negotiations or consultations with Israel."

He pointed out that the forum issued a statement over the past two days, which has been circulated by many media outlets, regarding the rumors about the existence of direct or indirect negotiations with Israel. He added: "We will communicate with UN bodies and organizations to demand the implementation of international resolutions that include the recovery of our occupied lands... without any conditions."

The statement clarified that the people of the Golan demand local, Arab, and international recognition of the UN resolutions that stipulate Israel’s withdrawal from their lands and the recognition of their legitimate rights to recover them by all means.

They also demanded compensation for damages since 1967 and the holding of a popular referendum including all Syrians, including the people of the Golan, to delegate the transitional government in Syria in any negotiation process or diplomatic step that preserves their full rights.
