At 11:00 a.m. today, the body of Saleh Muslim, member of the Presidential Council of the PYD, who was martyred yesterday while receiving treatment in a hospital in Hawler (Erbil) in Southern Kurdistan, arrived at the Semalka crossing.

The body was received by a large crowd of residents, the party’s co-presidency, several political figures, party leaders in Rojava, and representatives of the Autonomous Administration institutions.

After the body arrived by ambulance, attendees gathered in the courtyard of the crossing and observed a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs, expressing loyalty to their sacrifices and recalling their role in serving the causes of the peoples of the region.

During the reception ceremony, PYD co-chair Gharib Hesso delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the path of Saleh Muslim will remain present in the memory of his comrades and his people, noting that the late leader was among the political figures who dedicated their efforts to the Kurdish cause and worked for the rights of the Kurdish people.

Gharib added that Saleh Muslim was known for his national positions and his constant efforts to strengthen the values of coexistence and dialogue among the components of the region, stressing that his comrades will continue the path he followed in defending just causes and serving society.

The funeral convoy later headed toward the city of Girkê Legê, where party members and residents began gathering at the entrance of the city to receive the body.
