Gêlo Îsa: Leader Ocalan calls for peace, Turkey should respond

Speaking to ANHA agency, Gêlo Îsa addressed the call for peace and democratic society issued by leader Abdullah Ocalan.

 At the outset of his remarks, Îsa described leader Ocalan’s appeal as a historic call, stating:"Leader Abdullah Ocalan's call has been received positively by all parties; however, thus far, the Turkish state has not undertaken any changes or taken any steps in response."

 "The Turkish State Must Halt the War"

 Gêlo Îsa asserted that Turkey is facing a serious crisis and elaborated:"There is an ongoing crisis in Turkey. Therefore, the Turkish state must reassess its position and extend a hand to the call for peace. It is well known that following this historic appeal, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) declared a ceasefire. However, the Turkish state continues its attacks on the Medya Defense Zones as well as northern and eastern Syria. Thus, Turkey must reconsider its stance and put an end to the war."

 Îsa further emphasized the leader’s call, stating:"With his appeal for peace, Leader Abdullah Ocalan has opened the door to peace and created a new horizon for a resolution. It is imperative that the Turkish state clarifies its vision about this call for peace."

 "The Fundamental Condition is the Release of Leader Abdullah Ocalan"

  Îsa continued, asserting:"One of the fundamental conditions is that Leader Abdullah Ocalan must not remain imprisoned. He must be free to actively participate in the process and lead society. There are tens of thousands of Guerrilla fighters, and it is unrealistic to expect them to lay down their arms without guarantees. Such a step can only be ensured through the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

 Gêlo Îsa highlighted that the leader has dedicated his life to the pursuit of freedom and democracy, stating:"The leader has the capacity to take significant positive steps on a global level. His voice, along with that of the Guerrilla movement, resonates across the world. His birth is seen as a rebirth by the people. On this occasion, we extend our congratulations to all revolutionaries, all oppressed peoples, and all those struggling for freedom. We will make this year a year of freedom for all peoples."
