The targeting of the Jabsa gas export pipeline in the Arabidi area near al-Shaddadi sparked a fire, prompting specialized teams to isolate the site and shut off valves to contain the damage.

The Syrian Petroleum Company announced today that the Jabsa gas export pipeline in the Arabidi area, about 60 kilometers from the city of al-Shaddadi, had been targeted, sparking a fire along the pipeline.

In a statement published on its official platforms, the company said that “the relevant authorities are monitoring developments to address the explosion and contain its impact.” It added that “technical teams have isolated the area and closed the sectional valves upstream and downstream of the targeted site.”

The company added that firefighting, security and safety teams were working to secure the surrounding area, while the necessary measures to deal with the incident remained underway.
