Against the backdrop of the rapid transformations taking place in Syria in general, and North and East Syria in particular, there is an increasing need to anticipate the future by examining society’s perspectives on existing challenges and the opportunities available to enhance stability and development.

In this context, Nada Bahlawi, a resident of Tel Barak in Jazira Canton, emphasized the significance of the long-standing struggle undertaken by the region’s communities to achieve stability. Expressing optimism about the future, she stated: "We have great hope that the future of North and East Syria will be better. The efforts exerted by the region’s communities over the years will not be in vain. We can achieve political and security stability in parallel with economic development and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among different components of society."

Regarding the challenges, Bahlawi pointed to military threats and economic crises as key factors negatively affecting the region. However, she also highlighted the religious, sectarian, and ethnic diversity of the area as a source of strength, fostering solidarity among communities in the face of hardships.

Comprehensive Dialogue and Economic Development as Key Solutions

For his part, Ivan Suleiman, the member of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), stressed that the fundamental solution lies in conducting an inclusive dialogue among all parties while also strengthening the local economy.

"There must be a dialogue that includes all parties, in addition to supporting the economy through investment projects in agriculture and industry, as well as improving healthcare and education services," he said.

The Sacrifices of the Region’s People and the Right to Self-Determination

Meanwhile, Lazkin Mohammed, a resident of Tel Barak, praised the sacrifices made by the components of North and East Syria, emphasizing that these sacrifices have contributed to strengthening security and stability. He stated: "We have made significant sacrifices. The security and stability we experience today are the result of collective efforts by all components and their commitment to protecting their land and people."

In conclusion, he underscored the vital role of North and East Syria’s components in shaping the country’s future, asserting: "It is our right to be among the decision-makers in shaping our future and the future of our children. The rights of all components must be safeguarded, particularly within the constitution."
