The people of Çil Axa, expressed their disappointment over Turkey's continued attacks on the Medya Defense Zones despite the decision by the People's Defense Forces (HPG) and the Free Women's Units – Star (YJA-Star) to implement a ceasefire as an initial step toward peace.

On February 27, leader Abdullah Ocalan issued a historic call for peace, urging an end to wars and the establishment of a foundation for a genuine peace process. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed the call at the time, stating that Turkey had entered "a new phase and will not allow any party to sabotage this process.

" However, despite these statements, Turkish occupation forces have continued their military operations, targeting both the Medya Defense Zones and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. Additionally, the policy of isolation and harsh detention conditions imposed on leader Ocalan remains in effect.

Speaking to ANHA Agency, citizen Manal Mohammed Madhour stated: "Leader Ocalan’s call was a message of security and peace, but Turkey has refused to respond. We had hoped that peace would prevail in our regions following his appeal, yet Turkish attacks have not ceased; in fact, they have intensified."

She further remarked: "Turkey is not sincere in its pursuit of peace. It seeks to create divisions among the region’s communities in an attempt to undermine our democratic project. However, we will not yield to its ambitions."

Similarly, Zainab Rashid stated: "In response to leader Abdullah Ocalan’s call, the People's Defense Forces and Free Women's Units – Star implemented a ceasefire as a first step toward peace. However, Turkey continues to bomb our regions, proving its lack of genuine commitment to peace efforts." She emphasized that achieving peace requires the release of Abdullah Öcalan and an end to Turkish aggression.

For his part, citizen Hossam Hussein pointed out that Turkey is employing delaying tactics to manage its internal crises. He stressed that Turkey will not find a safe exit from its predicament unless it responds to Abdullah Ocalan’s call for peace.
