Thousands of citizens took to the streets in the cities of Mardin and Siirt in Northern Kurdistan in two mass demonstrations in support of the resistance of Rojava against the attacks carried out by mercenaries of the Syrian interim government, backed by the Turkish state.

A large number of participants joined the demonstrations, including members of parliament from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party, mayors, as well as members and administrators of political parties and civil society organizations.

The crowds gathered in front of the party building in Karpuran, holding banners reading: “Stop the attacks, Rojava is hope, resistance, and freedom,” and “Every strand of our hair is a source of our resistance.” They also raised slogans such as: “Woman, Life, Freedom,” “Down with collaboration, long live Kurdistan,” “Our braids are your worst nightmare,” “Resistance is life,” “Rojava is our honor,” and “Kobani did not fall, and will not fall.”

The demonstrators chanted slogans including “Long live the resistance of Rojava,” “Woman, Life, Freedom,” and “Rojava is our honor,” and set off fireworks. The march began on Midyat Street and continued to Mirad Kin Square, with participants chanting slogans and singing songs throughout the demonstration.
