Foreign Relations: Regime lacks credibility on separatism, dependency

In a statement issued today, the Foreign Relations responded to remarks made by the Damascus government’s Ministry, describing them as a new detachment from reality.

The Department of Foreign Relations stated: "In a new detachment from reality, the Damascus Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a statement, as usual, talking about its 'hostile rhetoric,' which Syrians have long been familiar with, including baseless accusations and claims of dependency to foreign powers, and accusing the Syrian Democratic Forces of attacking Deir ez-Zor, completely ignoring the actual details and the reality of the attack, which originated from areas under its control and from groups supported by it."

The Department of Foreign Relations pointed out that this mentality, which has led the country to its current state, is merely a form of "distorting the facts" and continuing to belittle the intelligence of Syrians. It would be more appropriate for these entities to address Turkey's and its mercenaries' ongoing violations, occupation of territories, and breaches of Syrian sovereignty.

The department rejected the language of hatred and treason: "We reject the language of hatred and treason, as the regime is the last entity qualified to speak about allegiance and separatism given its current situation." It noted that "this mentality has committed massacres against the Syrian people and continues in the same vein."

The department praised the patriotic stance of Syrians who reject discord and dependency to the regime and its allies, and who support the forces that have protected and defended Syria against aggression and terrorism, appreciating their position highly.

It called on Syrians in Damascus government-controlled areas "not to be swayed by this hostile and distorted rhetoric, and to stand united against the instigation of another war." The department also urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Damascus to abandon this demagogic rhetoric, which has yielded no results.

The department affirmed that "Syrian national dialogue is the correct path to building a strong, democratic, and unified Syrian nation, and we completely reject any divisive projects led by any entity. We will firmly oppose such projects, relying on the unity of our people and rejecting all forms of 'framing' facts in meaningless frameworks.”
