Videos circulating on social media show floodwaters caused by continuous heavy rains inundating dozens of tents at Kharbat al-Jawz camp in the Idlib countryside.

The floods inflicted significant damage on tents and the meager belongings on which displaced residents depend. Many families were forced to evacuate their tents and search for safer locations amid harsh weather conditions.

This incident once again highlights the fragility of the living conditions faced by displaced people in camps that lack basic infrastructure and essential services, leaving them vulnerable to cold waves and flooding during the winter, and to fires during the summer.
