Fires sweep through villages, threatening to cut off Zerkan–Tell Tamer road

Concerns are mounting among residents over the expansion of wildfires along the road linking the towns of Zerkan and Tell Tamer, as flames continue to spread due to strong winds and approach populated areas. Firefighting teams are continuing their efforts to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading further.

Fires ignited from Turkish bases in the countryside of Zerkan continue to spread along the road linking Zerkan and Tell Tamer, amid growing fears that the main road between the two towns could be cut off due to the expanding blaze.

According to ANHA correspondent, the flames have crossed the earthen berm and reached the villages of Al-Sabahiyah and Al-Asadiyah, while strong winds are contributing to the rapid spread and widening scope of the fires.

There is increasing concern over the safety of the road connecting Zerkan and Tell Tamer, as the fire continues to advance rapidly in its vicinity, threatening transportation between the two towns.

Firefighting teams from Derik, Zerkan, Tell Tamer, and Hasakah, alongside local residents, are continuing intensive efforts to contain the blaze, prevent its expansion to new areas, and extinguish it as quickly as possible despite difficult conditions caused by strong winds and the large scale of the fire.
