Fire erupts in military site of Damascus forces

A fire broke out in a military site belonging to Damascus Government forces in As-Suwayda, causing missiles to explode and fly erratically, reaching residents' homes. No further information is available on the cause of the fire.

Explosions were heard shaking the western countryside of As-Suwayda late last night, according to local residents.

Shortly after hearing the explosions, locals reported from military sources that a fire had erupted in "Brigade 405," a Damascus Government forces site near the village of Al-Majdal in the western countryside of As-Suwayda.

Residents of nearby villages and towns observed plumes of smoke rising and missiles being launched randomly from the site, some of which landed on civilian homes in the village of Al-Majdal.

According to the Suwayda 24 website, no injuries have been reported so far due to the missiles and shrapnel hitting the village.

The reasons for the fire in the military site remain unclear, and official and military authorities have yet to release any information about the incident.

It is noteworthy that protests in As have recently resumed with greater momentum, as demonstrators demand improved living conditions and political rights. This may lead to further escalation in the region, complicating the security situation.
