ANHA correspondents cited eyewitnesses as saying that a fire broke out at the Homs Refinery today, affecting the Follow-Up Office and the Director General’s Correspondence Office.

According to sources, the fire destroyed the contents of both offices, including official documents, records, and files.

According to information obtained by ANHA correspondents, the relevant authorities, represented by the Criminal Security Department, have begun investigating the circumstances of the fire, determining its cause and identifying any responsibilities related to it.

The destruction of the documents and files has raised questions about the nature of the documents affected by the fire and the timing of the incident, amid suspicions that the fire may have been deliberate. Its final cause, however, has not yet been determined.

Following the incident, the refinery went on alert, with engineers instructed to report to work today and follow up on procedures related to the incident.

The investigation is still underway to determine the circumstances and cause of the fire and whether it resulted from an accidental incident or was deliberate.
