ANHA correspondent in Al-Husseiniya village, west of Tel Tamr, documented the extensive damage caused by the large fire that swept through parts of the village and its surroundings before emergency teams, assisted by local residents, managed to bring it under control after hours of continuous efforts.

Photos and videos captured by our correspondent show the scale of destruction affecting several agricultural projects and residents’ properties, highlighting the severe economic and livelihood impacts of the fire in a village where most residents rely on agriculture and livestock farming as their primary sources of income.

According to field reports, seven agricultural projects were directly damaged by the fire. The flames destroyed solar power systems used to operate agricultural wells, as well as submersible pumps, irrigation networks, and water hoses, significantly affecting farmers’ ability to continue agricultural activities in the coming period.

The fire also destroyed approximately 20 tons of hay, a vital feed resource for livestock breeders, further increasing the losses suffered by local residents and adding to their economic burdens.

Damage was not limited to the agricultural sector. Several homes sustained varying degrees of damage, including the burning of furniture and household belongings. The fire also damaged electrical lines within the village, causing service disruptions in some affected areas.

The fire spread rapidly during the initial hours, threatening nearby residential areas and agricultural lands. It also temporarily blocked the Tel Tamr–Jabal Kazwan road after flames reached its vicinity. Emergency teams and local residents eventually managed to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.

Residents stated that the losses extend beyond the value of the destroyed equipment and property, directly affecting the livelihoods of dozens of families who depend on farming and livestock production, especially amid difficult economic conditions and the high costs of rehabilitating damaged agricultural projects.

These losses underscore the challenges facing rural communities in the region, where recurring fires pose a direct threat to agricultural seasons and basic living conditions. The situation highlights the growing need to support farmers, compensate affected residents, and rehabilitate the agricultural and service infrastructure damaged by the fire.
