The fourth group of displaced residents from Afrin had departed at dawn on Friday as part of organized return trips to their homes after years of displacement. The returnees gathered in the city of Hasakah before heading toward their original areas in Afrin.

The number of returning families in this group reached around 1,000 families, which required dividing them into two groups. The first group arrived in Afrin on Saturday evening, while the second group departed yesterday morning and reached their homes after midnight.

This step comes within the framework of implementing the January 29, 2026 agreement, which stipulates facilitating the return of displaced people to their areas and ensuring their organized return.

Three previous groups had already returned during the past months. The first group arrived on March 9, 2026, and included around 400 families, while the second group arrived on April 4, 2026, with nearly 200 families. The third group arrived on April 14, 2026, and included about 800 displaced families.
