Several informed sources reported explosions in the air defense battalion at Nayrab Airport in the city of Aleppo, located in the southeastern part of the Syrian province.

The sources confirmed that the explosions resulted from the detonation of stored missiles in the battalion, without specifying whether the causes were natural, such as high temperatures, or human-related. According to the sources, the explosions caused human and material losses, though no details were provided about the extent of the damage.

Ambulance and emergency teams were dispatched to the scene. No official statement has been issued by the Damascus authorities to clarify the cause of the explosion at the time of this report.

It is worth noting that Nayrab Military Airport experienced similar explosions on February 15, caused by a "human error" when missiles prepared for transport by members of the transitional government in Damascus exploded while being moved from the airport to an undisclosed destination.
