In early December 2014, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) successfully secured control over seven villages on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River in Deir ez-Zor, previously under the control of the Baath regime.

The liberated villages—Husseiniya, Hatlah, Marrat, Taybah, Mazloum, Khasham, and Salhiya—are home to approximately 200,000 people.

Speaking to ANHA agency, Mohammed Al-Dakheel stated: “After liberating the seven villages from Assad's regime, the Executive Council directed all its service institutions to provide support to the residents as quickly as possible.”

Al-Dakheel emphasized the urgency of delivering services to these villages, which host around 200,000 people and nearly 40 schools, along with several medical clinics. “We instructed all institutions to address the residents' needs comprehensively by ensuring the supply of flour and activating bakeries to distribute bread,” Al-Dakheel said.

“We also issued directives to repair water stations and provide essential fuels such as diesel, gasoline, and gas for the residents,”

Al-Dakheel added.

Al-Dakheel acknowledged the significant needs of the seven villages, stating, “Within our available resources, we are working to rehabilitate and reopen all service centers, schools, and health facilities. Progress is being made steadily, but more time is needed to meet the residents' full requirements. We plan to establish councils and activate service, health, and educational institutions in these areas.”

Since the start of 2024, several service projects have been implemented in the fields of electricity, water stations, road paving, and vital facilities such as irrigation systems.
