The European Union expressed its deep concern over the ongoing clashes in Sweida, southern Syria, which have resulted in numerous casualties. It reiterated its strong condemnation of the violence against civilians.

In an official statement, the EU called on all parties to immediately implement the ceasefire agreement reached on Tuesday, demanding "the protection of civilians without discrimination and an end to hate speech and sectarian rhetoric."

The statement emphasized that "the transitional authorities bear the responsibility for calming the situation, restoring calm, ensuring accountability for all crimes, and proceeding with an inclusive political transition," expressing the EU's readiness to provide support in this regard.

In a related context, the European Union expressed its concern over the Israeli escalation on Syrian territory, calling on all external parties to fully respect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
