European delegation visits the Department of Foreign Relations in NE, Syria

Yesterday, Monday, January 27, 2025, a European delegation including a number of French parliamentarians and political parties visited the headquarters of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, including "Thomas Porte", a representative of the France Insoumise party, "Dylan Butevla", head of foreign relations in the French Socialist Party, "Danielle Simoni", a parliamentarian in the Green Party - Environment, "Lamia Kirwani", an official in the French Socialist Party, "Geneviève Garrigos", head of international relations in the Paris Municipality, from the French Socialist Party, to the headquarters of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

They were received, according to what was published on the official website of the department, by the co-chairs of the Foreign Relations Department, Ilham Ahmed, and Fanar Al-Kait, and the two deputy co-chairs of the department, "Robil Bahou" and "Gulstan Ali".

At the beginning of the meeting, the co-chairs expressed their happiness with the delegation's visit on such a historic day, the day of the liberation of Kobani.

They discussed the necessity of finding a political process in which all Syrians, from forces, nationalities and sects, participate to maintain the stability of a unified, decentralized Syria, and to guarantee the rights of all components in the new constitution.

The continuation of Turkish attacks and targeting of unarmed civilians who contribute to protecting the Tishrin Dam and supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces, which threatens water and electricity security in the region.

Calling on human rights and humanitarian organizations and the international community as a whole to take practical and serious steps to put pressure the Turkish occupation state to stop these ongoing violations, and continued that protecting civilians and ensuring the safety of vital facilities is not only a local responsibility, but an international responsibility that everyone must bear.

The necessity of participating in combating the extremist approach in the region was emphasized, and the continuation of joint cooperation between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the International Coalition Forces.

The visiting delegation expressed its great admiration for the experience of the Autonomous Administration, which was formed from the various components of the region and the different religions, and provides the opportunity for the people to live in harmony despite the diversity. This model of Autonomous Administration will be a model to be emulated in all of Syria, and by other parts of the world and the Middle East.

The delegation affirmed its solidarity with the peoples of northern and eastern Syria regarding the attacks that the region is being subjected to by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and that they will convey their observations to their countries to put pressure them to stop these attacks.
