The source explained to the Russian Novosti Agency: "We hear different stories in the media regarding the meeting of the two presidents, but there are no agreements yet."

"We will announce the meeting between the two presidents at the appropriate time, if there are details about it" the source added.

Bashar al-Assad had made it clear in a speech before the People's Assembly on August 25 that restoring relations between his government and Turkey requires first removing reasons of deterioration of relations between the two countries, adding"We will not give up any of our rights."

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad also pointed out the necessity of Turkey withdrawing from the occupied territories  in Syria, in statements he made on the sidelines of his participation in the 162nd regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level in Cairo, which was held on September 10.
