Egyptian writer: PKK ideology are able to change Mid-east shape 

With the forty-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which coincides with a quarter of a century since the arrest of leader Abdullah Ocalan, the party has succeeded, according to observers, in defying the pressures, termination attempts, and genocide policies launched by the Turkish state. It expressed the concerns of the Kurdish people and presented serious political proposals capable of Changing the shape of the Middle East.

In this context, Egyptian writer and political analyst Ibrahim Shaaban said: “The long years that have passed since the PKK’s work confirm that it is a prominent Kurdish voice and cannot be ignored or removed from the Kurdish political equation.”

Ibrahim Shaaban added to ANHA agency: “On the anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, we can say that the party represents a prominent and influential Kurdish voice that has proven its ability to withstand and survive despite all the horrific strikes and targeting by the Turkish state and all the regimes that have ruled Turkey since the 1970s.”

Shaaban pointed out that: “There is a huge Kurdish segment that belongs to the party that clearly expresses Kurdish concerns and issues,” pointing out that “the existence of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party cannot be eradicated, canceled, or ended, as the Erdogan regime and the Turkish state imagine.”

The Egyptian writer saw that: “Whether we agree or disagree with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, there are demands raised by the party to defend the rights of the Kurdish people, and they must be considered, foremost of which is the full recognition of the rights of the Kurds, their existence, their identity, and their right to self-rule without continued Turkish targeting or aggression.”

A political movement despite Tureky's nose

Shaaban believed that: “The distortion of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party over the past years was and remains a malicious Turkish ploy to suppress the Kurdish voice, ignore the rights of millions of Kurds, and persecute and target them in southern Turkey, northwestern Syria, and northern Iraq,” pointing out that “only America and Britain are putting the party in "It is classified as terrorism for the sake of their interests with Turkey, while the United Nations and the rest of the world deal with it as a Kurdish political movement rooted in the Turkish environment."

He stressed that "the party's approach to military action and the announcement of adopting some actions against Turkey is nothing but a reaction to the Turkish regime's crimes against the Kurdish people and the Kurdistan Workers' Party," considering that "if a political formula for coexistence and autonomy for the Kurds had been proposed, Kurdish blood would not have continued to bleed these years."

Perfect solutions

The Egyptian political analyst pointed out that “the ideas put forward by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party can be agreed with some of them and disagreed with others, like any authentic political movement that has supporters and opponents, and is ongoing, but in general and in accordance with the declared goals of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, the party calls for expanding and strengthening relations with the East.” The Middle East, Kurdish, Arab, Turkish, and Persian, are ideal goals that, if they found their way to reality, would change the shape of the Middle East, especially since the party’s vision stems from working to resolve issues without interference from outside, especially imperialist powers, building a liberal, democratic, environmental society, and establishing a safe, stable life and a sophisticated economy for the peoples of the Middle East. Overall, they have modern and democratic goals.”

Ibrahim Shaaban concluded his vision by "calling on the Turkish regime to present a peace project, to consider the right to existence and coexistence of the Kurds, to stop the arrests and targeting, and to destroy the headquarters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, to release its leader Abdullah Ocalan, and to start a new page with the Kurdish people."
