The Spiritual leadership of the Druze community issued a statement today affirming its welcome of all humanitarian aid provided to the stricken province of Sweida, particularly that provided by international organizations and entities. The statement praised all sincere efforts aimed at saving lives and alleviating the suffering of the people amid the difficult circumstances the province is experiencing.

The statement emphasized "the need for an immediate halt to the brutal attack on the governorate," calling for an end to "media disinformation campaigns and the dissemination of malicious rumors aimed at inciting violence and hatred."

The Spiritual Presidency emphasized that the sect harbors no religious or ethnic dispute with anyone, reiterating its condemnation of anyone who seeks to sow discord among the people of the same nation, considering that "shame and disgrace be upon those who attempt to poison the minds of young people with hatred."

The leadership’s statement came after the Ministry of Health's media office told SANA that Sheikh Hikmat al-Hajri, the sect's supreme spiritual authority, "refused the entry of the official government delegation accompanying the aid convoy to Sweida, only allowing the aid to enter via the Syrian Arab Red Crescent. The convoy, accompanied by the delegation, returned to Damascus."

It is worth noting that Sweida Governorate has been witnessing deteriorating humanitarian conditions for days, amid growing fears of a worsening crisis in light of the ongoing military operations in Sweida and its countryside.
