A group of employees and workers dismissed from the Directorate of Agriculture in Raqqa Governorate staged a protest on Monday outside the governorate building, demanding to be reinstated.

The demonstrators carried banners affirming their commitment to defending their employment rights, while calling on the relevant authorities to respond to their demands and take steps to restore them to their positions.

The protest came a day after sanitation workers in the town of al-Mansoura, in the western Raqqa countryside, held a separate demonstration demanding the payment of salaries and financial entitlements that have been overdue for nearly six months.

The protests reflect ongoing calls for improvements in living conditions and public services as economic pressures continue to mount across different segments of Syrian society.
