Hamdusna Ada, who started a hunger strike in Amed high-security prison, was arrested in 2011 in the Laji district of Amed, then exiled to Rize prison. As a result of the efforts and requests submitted, he was sent again to Amed prison, where his sister Rashat Ada spoke about the hunger strike. Rashat recalled that in order to draw attention to the conditions of sick prisoners, torture and deprivation of rights, they began an effective “Justice Shift” for 14 months.

Our children are fighting for their people and their identity

Reshat Ada explained that their sons are fighting for their people and their identity, and she said: “They did not do anything. Our sons sacrificed lives for this land, and after they took my brother to prison, they exiled him to Rize and he remained there for a long time. As a result of our hard efforts, my brother was sent.” Here again, they are being tortured in prison. We reject these practices and want to stop it immediately. We support the legitimate struggle of our children. It is time to put an end to torture and isolation together.”

They struggle to live a decent life and give it to others

Before the hunger strike began, Rashat Ada met her brother in prison and said: “When I visited my brother Hamdusna in prison, he said that they would start a hunger strike to break the isolation imposed on Leader APO. Their morale was good, and they are struggling for a decent living.”

She stressed, "Everyone must support the prison resistance in order to break the isolation, and we will continue our resistance with our children in prison in the four parts of Kurdistan."
