Details of Turkish occupation massacre at  Sweidiyeh station

Two injured workers from the city of Çil Agha narrated the details of the massacre committed by the Turkish occupation at the Sweidiyeh station on the night of October 23, and explained that the goal of these attacks was to undermine stability and security in the region, displace the population, and occupy their lands. Stressing: "We are steadfast. Their attacks will only increase our determination and insistence on staying in our land."

The Worker Zahir Suleiman, (29 years old), a father of three children from the city of Çil Agha works at the station with his cousin Bashar Mahmoud Muhammad, and was injured by shrapnel in his head and hand.

 While his cousin was seriously injured, and is currently receiving treatment at the Martyr Khabat Hospital in Qamishli.

 "While I was working with my friends Mizr in a calm atmosphere, he asked me to rest a little before returning to work. During my break, the first shell from the Turkish occupation's drones hit the sixth oven in the station, and fires broke out. After the second shell, the explosions were so strong and pushed me into an adjacent room, I couldn't see anything because of the smoke and fire.  Then I heard the workers' voices, so I headed towards the door and saw them running to get out of the station. I ran with them and we started helping each other get the injured out, until we got away from the station to a safe distance," Zahir Suleiman said.

 Zahir explained that after the bombing, "We started asking about the missing people. One of them told me that they had left, but I did not believe him and was not relieved, and I started calling them, but their phones were out of coverage. Meanwhile, our administrative colleague Mahmoud Al-Jadou decided to risk entering the station to bring a car to transport the injured. Despite my injury, I started looking for my cousin. After several attempts, I found him severely injured, and I could not get him out. We all cooperated to help him get out and we managed to treat him using the car we brought from the station to Dar Al-Shifa Hospital."

 Zahir Suleiman made the point clear : "We are steadfast and will not allow the occupation to advance and occupy our land, as its attacks will only increase our determination and resolve to remain in our land."

 The Turkish occupation, which only knows the language of blood, killing and committing massacres, bombed the Sweidiyeh station in the countryside of the city of Derik, where 40 workers were working on shifts to secure their livelihood and support their families.

Unfortunately,  7 workers were martyred and 14 others were injured, including four from the countryside of the city of Çil Agha, two of whom were seriously injured, and are receiving treatment at the Martyr Khabat Hospital in the city of Qamishli.

In a visit by ANHA agency to their homes, the survivors narrated how blood mixed with oil on that tragic night, as this massacre reflects the continuation of the Turkish crimes against civilians of NE Syria.

 Hussam Dhiab, (39 years old), from the village of Safa located south of Çil Agha, a father of three children. He has been working as a bakery worker at the Sweidiyeh station for two years. During his shift, he was injured by Turkish occupation drones.

 Hussam Dhiab recalls that night, saying: "While I was working in the refinery at 2:30 in the morning, Turkish occupation drones targeted the station, and shells rained down on us. Many workers were injured and some were martyred. I was injured by shrapnel in my leg, hand and shoulder, and I was taken to Dar Al-Shifa Hospital for treatment."

 Hussam Dhiab added: "We all work to secure our livelihood, why is the occupation targeting us?"

 He explained that "the occupation's goal is to destabilize security and stability in the region."

 Hussam Dhiab stressed, "We are not afraid of the attacks. We will work together to repair the station and restart it again."
