The Mezopotamya News Agency published details of the visit by the Peoples' Democratic Party (DEM) delegation to Imrali Prison and their meeting with Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

This was the third meeting the DEM delegation held with Leader Abdullah Ocalan at the high-security Imrali Prison. The delegation included the co-chairs of the party, Tulay Hatim Oglari and Tunjar Bakirkhan, the MP for the Peoples' Democratic Party, Sirri Sureyya Onder, MPs for the party, Pervin Buldan and Gengiz Cicek, Mardin Mayor Ahmad Turk, and the lawyer from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office, Faiq Ozgur Erol.

After the meeting, the delegation held a press conference at the Elite World Hotel in the Beyoglu district of Istanbul, where they read out Leader Abdullah Ocalan's historic call.

The delegation had flown out of Istanbul at 9:00 AM and arrived at Imrali Island at 9:30 AM.

Leader welcomed the delegation warmly

The delegation was warmly received by Leader Abdullah Ocalan, as well as other detainees, including Omar Khairi Kunar, Hamili Yildirim, and Veysi Aktaş. The Leader and his fellow detainees showed great enthusiasm and eagerness upon receiving the delegation.

Filming of the meeting with three cameras

After the reception, Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the other detainees, along with the delegation, proceeded to the meeting room, where they discussed the content of the Leader's call.

Once Leader Abdullah Ocalan read the call he had written by hand, it was evident that the event had been filmed by three cameras. After reading the call, Leader Abdullah Ocalan stood up and shook hands with all the delegation members, and individual photos were taken with each of them, as well as a group photo.

After reading the message, aleader Abdullah Ocalan and the delegation had a meal together. During the meal, discussions were held regarding the phase and the call.

At the end of the visit, the delegation took group photos in the prison's garden. They were given photos related to the Leader's call but were not provided with recordings of the meeting.

The meeting lasted for four hours, after which the delegation flew back to Istanbul, where they were warmly received by waiting supporters who chanted slogans such as "Long live leader Apo."

Over 300 journalists attended

The press conference held by the delegation attracted widespread media attention, with more than 300 journalists and 140 media outlets present. Many intellectuals, writers, artists, and civil society organization representatives also attended.

The hall was packed during the reading of the call, which was read by Ahmad Turk in Kurdish and Pervin Buldan in Turkish.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has been subjected to strict isolation in Imrali Prison for 26 years, sent a message for "peace and a democratic society" through the DEM Party delegation and his companions.

After the call was announced, many of the attendees could not hold back their tears and expressed their deep emotions.

Pro-government media outlets reported the message in an edited manner, focusing only on "disarmament and the dissolution of the PKK" while ignoring other important aspects of the call.

However, the most striking parts of the call came through statements from the delegation itself. Sirri Sureyya Onder said after reading the call that Leader Abdullah Ocalan had told the delegation during the meeting: "There is no doubt that the implementation of the disarmament process and the dissolution of the PKK is linked to the legal and democratic political steps the other party will take."
