Despite intensity of attacks.. "Aoun Al-Datat" residents still clinging to their homes

The Turkish occupation shelling on the village of Aoun al-Dadat in the Manbij Canton in the NE Syrian region caused significant damage and heavy losses to civilian property. However, this did not discourage the residents from staying, nor did it push them to leave the village.

MANBIJ

On Friday night, the Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries fired about 45 artillery shells at the village of "Aoun al-Datat" located in the northern countryside of the city of Manbij, not to mention the almost daily shelling of the village and its surroundings.

ANHA agency's correspondents monitored heavy damage and losses to the homes of the people and agricultural crops surrounding the village, left by the Turkish shelling.

In addition, the "Aoun al-Datat" crossing, which separates the cities of Manbij in the NE Syria region and the occupied Jarablus, was shelled with artillery shells, and damaged the medical points that provide services to passengers through the crossing.

Ali al-Hefni, resident of the village, spoke about the moments they lived under the bombardment, saying: "It was 2 o'clock in the middle of the night when the shells started raining down on us, it was terrifying moments, we did not know at what moment the house would collapse above our heads."

Ali al-Hefni added: "I have young children and a girl of determination, I thank God that no one was physically harmed, but I am afraid that their mental health will be harmed by continuing to live under the weight of the bombardment."

Al-Hefni referred to the material damage he suffered as a result of the bombing: "Some parts of the house were damaged, and the olive grove that I have owned for 25 years, despite all that, we will remain clinging to our homes and land."

Mohammed al-Abdullah al-Sheikho, child from the same village, described the state of terror caused by the shelling, saying: "We were sleeping and woke up suddenly to the sounds of shells falling on the village and nearby fields, one of the shells fell on our house, so we took refuge in the neighbor's house."

"I don't want to leave my house, this is my home and here are my family and friends, I don't want to get away from this place," he said.
