Hundreds of residents from Derik city and its surrounding areas participated in the march, which began at Martyrs’ Square and passed through the city’s central market.

Participants carried pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and chanted slogans calling for his physical freedom.

Upon reaching the Martyrs’ Families Council, the marchers observed a moment of silence. Then, Siham Dawood, a member of the Kongra Star in Derik, delivered a speech emphasizing “the necessity of releasing Leader Abdullah Ocalan and resolving the Kurdish issue, so that the Middle East may enjoy peace and security, while fostering social solidarity, in addition to the solutions and ideas Leader Ocalan offers for promoting democracy and peace worldwide.”

She added, “We, as women, draw inspiration for our vision and struggle from Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s thought in building a democratic society, and intensifying the struggle for the Leader’s physical freedom is fundamental for us.”
