Derbasiya people denounce Turkish authorities' attempt to seize N. Kurdistan people will

Regarding the Turkish authorities' policies in N. Kurdistan, particularly the protests in the city of Colemêrg following the arrest of the city's mayor and the appointment of a trustee by the authorities.

The people of Derbasiya issued a statement read by the co-chair of the Derbasiya City Council, Razia Ibrahim, in the presence of institutions members, councils, youth movements, and women's organizations.

The statement mentioned the victories achieved by the people of N. Kurdistan in the municipal elections held in N. Kurdistan and Turkey on March 30th last year.

It also indicated that the electoral process took place through ballot boxes with all its legal and human rights procedures, but the fascist Turkish state attacked the will of the people in most areas of N. Kurdistan, especially the municipalities won by Kurdish areas.

The statement attributed Erdogan's loss in the municipal elections to his unethical and illegal maneuvers, and the result of his arbitrary policies in erasing freedoms and suppressing political and media activists, especially his arrest of members of the Equality and Democracy Party.

The people also denounced the attacks of the Turkish fascist regime and violations against the will of the people in N. Kurdistan, calling on international powers and human rights committees to take action and break their silence regarding Erdogan's violations and policies.
