Democratic Media Union: Nazim and Jihan sacrifice their lives for the truth 

The Democratic Media Union announced that journalists Nazim Dashtan and Jihan Belkin have joined the free media martyrs.

It indicated in a statement that journalists Jihan and Nazim were aware of the attacks of the fascist Turkish occupation state against the people and sacrificed their lives in order to defeat these attacks.

The statement expressed great sadness and anger over the martyrdom of our comrades Nazim Dashtan and Jihan Belkin as a result of the air attack by the fascist Turkish occupation state on the city of Kobani. Through the statement, the Coordination extended its deep condolences to the families of our dear companions and to the Free Media Union, affirming their promise that their memories will remain eternal in our hearts and that we will strive to achieve their goals.

The statement stated: 'At a time when the fascist Turkish occupation state is launching its attacks on Rojava with the aim of annihilation, the occupation targeted a vehicle that was carrying our comrades Jihan and Nazim while they were performing their humanitarian and patriotic duty with all sincerity.

Our comrades Jihan and Nazim were martyred because they were the voice of truth in thwarting the special media war attacks of the fascist Turkish occupation state, and they joined the caravan of free media martyrs. It is known that Nazem and Jihan, like all those working in the field of free media, put their lives on the line and showed great determination. They were aware of the genocidal attacks on our people and sacrificed their lives to defeat these attacks. Let our comrades Nazim and Jihan be proud that they have become the guerrillas of the truth.

Therefore, we condemn and denounce once again the attacks of the fascist Turkish occupation state, and we call on democratic and revolutionary public opinion and the national and international media to take action against the fascist Turkish occupation state, which is a partner of ISIS, and to take the necessary measures. We wish those working in the field of free media victory in their struggle.
