Democratic Islam Conference presents its political vision, emphasizes unity, co-existence

In light of the rapid political developments in Syria, the Democratic Islam Conference continues its efforts to open channels of dialogue with society and present its vision for a political solution that guarantees the country's future and its people's unity. The conference held a public meeting in Tel Tamr city in Jazira Canton to discuss the current situation and clarify its vision for Syria's future.

The meeting was held in Kenir Hall in the city center, with broad participation from residents, social and religious figures, members of civil society institutions, and representatives of the city's political parties.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence. Then, Mustafa Abdo, the administrator of the Democratic Islam Conference's organizing committee, delivered a comprehensive political presentation on the conference's vision for Syria's future, calling for raising community awareness and rejecting hate speech that seeks to undermine civil peace and co-existence.

Abdo emphasized that Syria's future cannot be built on exclusion or division, but rather on mutual recognition of all components' rights and the establishment of a just, pluralistic, democratic system.

For her part, Kholoud Abdo, the co-chair of the Democratic Islam Conference Council in Hasaka, emphasized the need to enhance popular participation in political and social life, considering this the true guarantee for achieving stability and building a democratic Syria that is inclusive of all.

She emphasized that the conference is working to open channels of dialogue between various components to promote the spirit of co-existence and build a cohesive societal base capable of facing challenges.

In turn, Sheikh Ahmed al-Jassem, the member of the Mosque Affairs Department of the Democratic Islam Conference Council in Hasaka, focused on the religious and moral dimensions of confronting crises, emphasizing that Islam, at its core, is based on tolerance and justice, not on division or extremism.

Sheikh Ahmed al-Jassem called for strengthening religious values that encourage brotherhood and compassion, in addition to unifying ranks in the face of the challenges threatening the future of the region. He emphasized that the Democratic Islam Conference represents a renewed vision consistent with the demands of the era, and calls for peace and justice, far from exclusion and violence.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the attendees agreed that confronting the current crises in Syria can only be achieved via unity, solidarity, and dialogue.
