Delegation from DAANES held important meeting in the Finnish Parliament

A delegation from the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria met with members of the Finnish Parliament in the capital, Helsinki. The meeting reviewed the ongoing attacks launched by the Turkish occupation state against the region and the crimes committed against civilians.

A delegation from the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, headed by Abd al-karim Omar, the Administration's representative in Europe; Khalat Demir, the Administration's representative in Finland; and Roliyan Suleiman, member of the Administration's representation in Finland, is holding a series of meetings with officials in the Republic of Finland. The delegation met with a group of members of the Finnish Parliament, including Pekka Haavisto, former Finnish Foreign Minister and Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee; Eva Bjødet, Member of Parliament; and Johan Kvarn Stron, founder of the Friends of the Kurdish People Group.

During the meeting, they discussed the situation in Syria, political and social developments, and the crimes of the Turkish occupation state. The two sides also discussed the agreement signed between the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and the head of the Damascus Authority, Ahmed al-Sharaa, and the work to form joint committees to implement its provisions.

The Finnish delegation affirmed its interest in the situation in Syria and emphasized the need for the Kurds and other components to participate in the country's future.

In addition, the delegation from the Democratic Autonomous Administration visited the Municipality of Helsinki and met with members of the municipality. They discussed ways of cooperation between the municipalities of Finland and the municipalities of North and East Syria, and proposed twinning agreements between them.

During a visit to the Finnish Institute for Foreign and International Relations, the delegation discussed with researchers the general situation in Syria, the challenges facing the AANES, and Leader Abdullah Ocalan's peace initiative and its impact on the region.

A delegation from the Democratic Autonomous Administration met with a delegation from the Finnish Left Party on Monday, March 24. The two sides discussed several issues, including developments in Syria and the Turkish occupation state's attacks on the Tishreen Dam, the Qaraqozaq Bridge, and the surrounding areas of Kobani.
