delegation from Aleppo-Damascus Bar Associations visits Kobani Lawyers’ Union to discuss integration

A delegation from the Bar Associations of Aleppo and Damascus governorates visited the headquarters of the Lawyers’ Union in the city of Kobani today to discuss mechanisms for integrating lawyers’ associations in Syria and unifying professional union work.

During a meeting held at the union’s headquarters, the two sides discussed ways to unify internal regulations, develop professional and legal working mechanisms, and safeguard the rights of lawyers in all areas, in a manner that serves the interests of the profession and strengthens its role in society.

Participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of overcoming administrative and legal obstacles to the integration process and working toward formulating a common vision that ensures fair representation for all lawyers.

On the sidelines of the visit, the agency’s office in the city was inaugurated in a protocol ceremony attended by members of the delegation, representatives of the Kobani Lawyers’ Union, and a number of legal professionals.

The opening of the office aims to facilitate legal procedures, provide services to lawyers and citizens, and strengthen communication between the branches of the lawyers’ associations.

Those present welcomed the step, describing it as “the beginning of a new phase of professional cooperation” among lawyers’ associations in Syria’s various governorates.
