Deir ez-Zor Military Council discusses developments, issues decisions to confront ISIS

According to the official website of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Deir ez-Zor Military Council held a broad meeting with the participation of brigade and military council commanders and the Women’s Protection Units to review the latest security updates in the region and the means to counter ISIS mercenaries, as well as to discuss the challenges hindering stability in Deir ez-Zor.

During the meeting, participants assessed the current security situation and mechanisms to improve combat readiness. They also discussed new plans to enhance field coordination between the military councils and combat units in order to confront ISIS sleeper cells and improve both security and military performance.

The meeting concluded with a set of practical decisions aimed at raising the competence of fighters and military leadership. These include launching advanced training and qualification programs to enhance combat and tactical levels, establishing new mechanisms to strengthen intelligence work and information sharing between brigades, military councils, and the Women’s Protection Units, and developing leadership and administrative capacities within the military councils to ensure higher readiness in facing security challenges. The council also emphasized improving coordination between military councils to secure supply lines, operations, and protect infrastructure.

At the end of the meeting, the council affirmed that combating ISIS mercenaries and maintaining security and stability in Deir ez-Zor remain top priorities for its forces, stressing the continuation of joint efforts among all military formations until the complete elimination of security threats in the region.
