Death toll of Salamiyah attack rises to two

The death toll from the armed attack on the village of Al-Saboura in the countryside of Salamiyah has risen to two, after a citizen succumbed to severe injuries this morning.

A second civilian died today after being critically wounded in the armed attack targeting Al-Saboura village in the countryside of the Salamiyah area. The number of victims is still expected to rise, as several injured people remain in critical condition, some of them in intensive care.

According to available information, there are four injured individuals, with some receiving treatment in intensive care units.

Earlier, unidentified gunmen opened fire indiscriminately on civilians in Al-Saboura village, in the countryside of the Salamiyah area in Hama province. The attack resulted in the death of one civilian and injuries to others. The shooting occurred while residents were gathered near the police station and at another location close to the municipal building.

Local residents accused the attackers of being members of Syria’s transitional government forces, claiming that the attack was carried out with sectarian motives.
