Darbasiyah Youth vow to untensify efforts for leader Ocalan’s physical freedom

In her statement, young activist Salva Semo said that the call for “Peace and a Democratic Society” launched by leader Abdullah Ocalan was aimed at ending wars and achieving peace in Turkey and the Middle East. However, she noted that the Turkish authorities have not taken serious steps toward a political solution.

She added that, despite more than 26 years of leader Ocalan’s imprisonment, Turkish authorities continue to deny him the right to hope.

“For the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, many public campaigns have been launched with strong participation,” she said, stressing that “the youth bear great responsibility in this struggle and must deepen their understanding of the Manifesto of Peace and the Democratic Society to play their leading role effectively.”

Semo emphasized that, “To achieve peace and build a democratic society, it is essential that leader Abdullah Ocalan obtain his physical freedom.”

Meanwhile, activist Nesrin Khalil stated that leader Abdullah Ocalan continues to lead a great resistance from Imrali Prison, spreading his thought and philosophy to the world. She noted that his ideas have become a guiding light for youth and women to continue their struggle within society.

She added, “Leader Abdullah Ocalan gave great importance to youth; therefore, we, as young people, will continue our struggle through various activities and train ourselves in his ideology and philosophy.”

For his part, Dilovan Mohammed said that the results of leader Ocalan’s struggle and resistance for the peoples can be clearly seen today through their continued fight.

He concluded by affirming that the youth constantly renew themselves through reading and studying leader Abdullah Ocalan’s thought: “A great responsibility lies on the shoulders of the youth to achieve the leader’s physical freedom. Therefore, we will escalate our struggle and remain in the public squares until this goal is realized.”
