The mourners of the massacre victims, who were from a single family and were killed by Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense," were shelled while attending the funeral in the cemetery of Al-Dahla village. This forced them to hastily bury the martyrs until the situation calmed down.

The Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" committed two massacres against the residents of the towns of Al-Dahla and Jadida Al-Bukara through their shelling, resulting in 16 citizens being martyred and injured.

The massacres occurred after midnight, when the Damascus government forces and the "National Defense" shelled the two towns with rockets at 2:30 AM on Friday from their bases in the village of Al-Bu Lail on the western bank of the Euphrates River. All the rockets and shells hit civilian homes, as confirmed by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
