The Ministry of Defense of the Damascus government said today that its armed forces clashed with mercenaries who attempted to attack a military site near Idlib.

The ministry added that it "shot down three drones belonging to the group in the Quneitra and Idlib countryside and arrested one of its members."

The statement said, "A unit of our armed forces operating in the direction of the southern countryside of Idlib clashed with a terrorist group affiliated with the so-called Jabhet al -Nusra terrorist organization that attempted to infiltrate and attack one of our military points. Its members were killed and wounded, and one of the members of the terrorist group was arrested."

In a related context, a mercenary from Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham was killed as a result of bombing by suicide planes belonging to the Damascus forces today, targeting the 112th Regiment on the eastern outskirts of Darat Azza in the western countryside of Aleppo, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
