Damascus forces withdrew from various areas in the outskirts of Damascus adjacent to the capital, coinciding with popular protests against the Damascus government in Jaramana and Sahnaia, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicated that military and security forces withdrew from Jaramana, Qatana, Artouz, Moadamiyet al-Sham, Daraya, Al-Kisweh, and locations near the Mezzeh Military Airport and Dumair in the Damascus countryside, in addition to successive withdrawals from the Qalamoun region.

According to the SOHR, members of the Damascus forces, their allied militants, and elements of their security branches fled towards the capital, Damascus.

The SOHR reported that the so-called "reconciliation factions" have reached a few kilometers from the gates of the capital, Damascus, following successive withdrawals from the Damascus countryside. It is expected that the rest of the residents of the reconciliation areas on the outskirts of the capital, Damascus, will rise up.

The Damascus forces and the 66th Brigade of the Fourth Division withdrew towards Damascus from the Qalamoun region, specifically from the towns of Assal al-Ward, Yabroud, Fleita, al-Nasirah, and al-Ruhaybah. The Damascus forces also withdrew from Artouz, and are now 10 kilometers away from the capital, Damascus. The factions are surrounding the towns of Zakiyah, Khan al-Sheih, and Sa'sa to free the prisoners in the Military Security prison.

In turn, a military source from the Damascus forces stated that there is no truth to any news regarding the withdrawal of the Damascus forces units present in all areas of the Damascus countryside. He described such news as aimed at spreading panic and fear among the civilians in the Damascus countryside, despite the fact that the footage published on social media shows a different reality.
