Co-chair of DAA in Jazira canton: We have taken a step to confront the policies of genocide

On February 5, members of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of al-Jazira canton, political parties, women's movements and social institutions issued a statement in which they announced their joining the general mobilization and joining the ranks of their military forces, which was called for by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria on December 2, 2014.

Regarding the step, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of al-Jazira canton, Hassan Sharo, spoke to our agency.

Hassan Sharo initially saluted the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces for their resistance and the people's joining the resistance, through the protest shift on Tishreen Dam, and stated that given the historical and sensitive stage that the region of North and East Syria is going through, they found it necessary at this stage to join the Syrian Democratic Forces.

He said: "The region needs protection from many aspects, and we have taken this step to confront the occupation."

Hassan Sharo pointed to the Turkish occupation state's efforts to occupy North and East Syria, eliminate the popular will, the cohesion between the components and the democratic nation project that it adopts, and explained: "The people made a great effort during the July 19th Revolution and are closer to achieving freedom today than ever before, and all the sons of this people and the institutions of the region must bear responsibility in this emergency stage."

Hassan Sharo confirmed the readiness of all members of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of al-Jazira canton to join the general mobilization. He said: "We took this step to confront the policies of genocide."
