According to local reports, the clashes erupted in broad daylight during an attempted raid by security forces on the residence of an individual wanted on charges related to the distribution of illicit substances. The operation triggered a firefight in which the suspect was killed. Hours later, gunmen believed to be affiliated with the deceased launched an assault on a General Security facility in the city, prompting renewed clashes in the vicinity of the automated bakery, where security personnel pursued members of the attacking group.

Sources identified the deceased as Mohannad Abu Ruslan, a member of the General Security forces. The injured, all residents of Jaramana, were named as Rabee Hamid, Salim Murshid, Alaa Rizq, and Rabee Al-Humaidi.

These incidents come amid a broader deterioration in the security situation in Jaramana, even as more than 120 local youths have recently joined the General Security apparatus under a local agreement aimed at bolstering internal order. The developments highlight the mounting challenges facing this fragile arrangement in the face of increasing lawlessness and extrajudicial activity.
