A child lost his life following the explosion of an unidentified object left over from the war in al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood of Aleppo city. The child was originally from the town of Qubtan al-Jabal in the Daret Azza subdistrict of the Jabal Samaan district.

The incident is attributed to the widespread presence of landmines and unexploded ordnance left behind by the war across several Syrian regions, amid the absence of effective mechanisms for their removal and disposal.

According to the SOHR, the number of civilians who have lost their lives since the beginning of 2026 due to explosions of war remnants has risen to 72, including 18 children and 7 women. Meanwhile, 56 others have been injured with varying degrees of severity, including 34 men, 18 children, and 4 women.
