Campaign of collect signatures in Tal Tamr

On its second day, the campaign to collect signatures continues in the Tal Tamr district of Jazera Canton in the NE Syria, within the framework of the campaign that was launched on the 9th of this February.

Today, the Popular Initiative Committees began collecting signatures in the southern neighborhood of Tal Tamr district, and the Assyrian village of Tal Nasri in the south of the district.

Regarding the mechanism of work of the committees formed to collect signatures, the spokesman for the Popular Initiative in the Tal Tamr district, Muhammad Nouri Al-Ahmad, said to ANHA agency: “There are 11 committees distributed among the communes, to collect signatures demanding the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

Al-Ahmad explained: “The goal of our campaign is to submit a report to the Council of the European Union, to put pressure on the Turkish state to release the leader Ocalan, and this campaign is a popular initiative from all components: Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians and Syriacs,” and he said: “The people of the region consider their freedom from the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

Al-Ahmad stated that the campaign to collect signatures from the people of Tal Tamr district will continue until the end of next March, with 50,000 thousand signatures being collected from the people of the district and its villages.
