Calls for international investigation to hold accountable all those involved in the Shengal massacre
10 years after ISIS mercenaries committed the most heinous massacres in Shengal, the Yazidi Women's Union in Aleppo city called for an international investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
As part of a series of events and activities organized on the 10 anniversary of the Shengal massacre, which is considered one of the most heinous massacres of the twenty-first century, the Yazidi Women's Union in Aleppo made a statement today.
The statement was read by members of the Yazidi Women's Union in Aleppo, Sozdar Juma'a and Sidra Dorish, in Kurdish and Arabic, in front of the 2 martyrs Saqr and Farhad commun, in the Ashrafieh neighborhood, in the presence of dozens of members of the Yazidi Women's Union and the Kongra Star.
The statement began by pointing out that the brutal crimes committed against the Yazidi Kurds 10 years ago are among the most heinous massacres in the twenty-first century, as they were committed by ISIS mercenaries, imposing captivity, kidnapping, rape and other crimes against the Yazidi community, especially women.
The statement pointed out that the crimes of ISIS mercenaries have left psychological distortion for many women so far, as they were offered in slave markets in exchange for money, considering this a stain on the forehead of humanity.
The statement also said that the sacrifices of the YPG, YPJ and HPG stood as an impregnable barrier to further crimes and created the conditions for the formation of the basic building block of the YPŞ and the YPŞ-Woman as well.
In conclusion, the statement called for an international investigation to hold accountable all those involved and responsible for committing violations and massacres against the Yazidi community, wishing the return of all abductee.
