Calls for a strong Arab stance against Turkish war of genocide

Egyptian journalist Abdel Nabi Abdel Sattar told ANHA agency: “The Turkish attacks on northern Syria are not based on any justifications, and do not take into account any customs and laws.” He wondered, "What brutality is practiced by the Turkish forces to the point that all water wells and stations are out of service?"

The Egyptian writer believes that “the international silence is due to the disruption of international standards for a long time, and they are almost normal at the present time,” pointing out at the same time that what is truly unfortunate is the surprising Arab silence.

Abdel Sattar asked: “Isn’t Syria a member of the Arab League and the victims of the Turkish attacks on northern Syria are Arab and Kurdish blood that united in the face of the Turkish aggression?”

He considered the Arab silence regarding the Turkish aggression “a shame that will continue to haunt the Arabs for many decades.”

Egyptian journalist Abdel Nabi Abdel Sattar likened it to “what the Turkish forces are doing in northern Syria is a duplicate of what the Israeli forces are doing in the Gaza Strip.”

He added: "What is astonishing is that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who attacked what Israel is doing in Gaza, is the one who issues orders to his forces to strike unarmed civilians in northern Syria, and to target infrastructure facilities, including water and electricity stations and oil refineries, which led to a power outage for hundreds of people in the towns, villages, a number of major cities, and severe damage to oil stations.”

Barbarian attacks

In his turn, Egyptian political analyst Ibrahim Shaaban described "the Turkish attacks against North and East Syria as barbaric."

He pointed out that "Turkey is deliberately destroying the infrastructure of northern Syria, and over the past years it has continued its aggression against northern Syria and Iraq, under false claims and false allegations of the existence of terrorism."

He stressed that "there is no terrorism, but there are rights that must be recognized, and it is not acceptable for the Turkish policy of genocide to continue against the Kurdish people in particular and the peoples of northeastern Syria in general amid international and Arab silence."

Emphasizing "the necessity of stopping these operations and having a strong Arab position to confront Turkish violations of the sovereignty of Syria and Iraq."

He pointed out that "Turkey is moving according to an agenda specific to its interests and is targeting Arabs and Kurds in Syria and Iraq, in addition to violating the sovereignty of the two countries," denouncing "the silence of the Arab League regarding Turkish violations."

He considered that "what Turkey is doing against the peoples of North and East Syria is no less criminal than the attacks committed by Israeli forces against the Gaza Strip."

He stressed that "Turkish-Israeli relations have been strong and complex for years, and Erdogan's criticism of Israel's practices is merely a speck of dust in the eyes, especially since Tel Aviv and Ankara's relations are continuing on the security and economic levels."
