Call for Kurdish Parties to resist betrayal of KDP

Angry reactions continue regarding the attacks of the occupying Turkish state on Southern Kurdistan and the betrayal of the KDP.

The Turkish attacks on villages in southern Kurdistan caused the burning of thousands of acres of agricultural land and trees, in addition to targeting residents and journalists in coordination with the KDP, as happened in the city of Sulaymaniyah on August 23, where the journalists Gulestan Tara and Hîro Baha al-Din were martyred due to Turkish targeting.

The citizen Hamida Isso explained that the Turkish authorities' hostility towards the Kurdish people goes back many years, and that the Kurdistan Democratic Party's support for the Turkish occupation is "a betrayal of the identity and culture of the Kurdish people," and called on the Kurdish political parties to show a serious stance against the "betrayal of the Kurdistan Democratic Party."

The citizen Saud Maish said  "The Turkish occupation is looking to create pretexts and lies to launch attacks and implement its colonial plans," and held the Kurdistan Democratic Party primarily responsible for the massacres that took place against the Yazidis in Shengal in 2014, and pointed out that "the position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party is a betrayal of the Kurdish people."

Maish called on the Kurdish political parties and the Kurdish people to unite. "We must stand against the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and go out to the squares to slam the betrayal and occupation."

Turkish President Erdogan visited Iraq in April, and ended his tour by visiting the city of Hewlêr in Southern Kurdistan. Erdogan was warmly received by KDP officials, during which Masoud Barzani, the head of the KDP, described in a statement that "the Turkish president's visit is a factor in achieving development and security in the region."

The Turkish attacks on Southern Kurdistan has increased since Erdogan's last visit, until the Turkish occupation forces began a major military incursion deep into Southern Kurdistan at the beginning of July, causing civilian casualties and widespread fires in villages and mountainous areas.

In response to the ongoing Turkish attacks, Nisreen Ali from the city of Darbasiyah expressed her support for resistance against the Turkish occupation, saying: "We confirm that we will stand against the approach of treason of the Kurdistan Democratic Party with the Turkish occupation, and we will continue to support the Guerrilla forces."
