Unidentified individuals lured Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Ja’ed from his home under the pretext of officiating a marriage ceremony; contact with him was subsequently lost, and he went missing, according to local residents.

His body was later discovered on the Soran–Talalin road; according to available information, the perpetrators had beheaded him and dumped his body by the roadside near a mosque.

The identities of those involved and the motives behind the crime remain unknown, while the incident has sparked shock and outrage among the local community.

With this incident, the total number of documented criminal acts and murders across Syrian governorates—as recorded by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights since the beginning of 2026—has risen to 336. These crimes have resulted in the deaths of 364 people, including 288 men, 49 women, and 27 children.
