Autonomous Administration in Euphrates Canton calls to end Turkish occupation's massacres

Recently, the Turkish occupation state has escalated its attacks against civilians, committing dozens of massacres. The most recent incident occurred yesterday, Wednesday, when a house in the city of Kobani was bombed, resulting in the martyrdom of two civilians, Azad Mohammed and Shiro Mashid.

Today, the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates Canton issued a statement to the public, read by Najah Meshi, an executive council administrator of the Autonomous Administration, in the presence of representatives from the administration’s institutions. The statement was delivered in front of the Autonomous Administration headquarters in the city of Kobani.

The statement read:

"The Turkish occupation army continues its aggressive approach against our people and active forces on the ground, blatantly violating humanitarian and international laws. Two days ago, it targeted a public market in the city of Serrin in the Euphrates Canton with drones, committing crimes and massacres against the people of the region. This attack added to its long record of atrocities, resulting in the martyrdom of 12 civilians, including two children, and injuring 13 others. Yesterday, it targeted a house in the center of Kobani, leading to the martyrdom of two unarmed civilians, Azad Mohammed and Shiro Mashid.

These cowardly attacks by the Turkish occupation state are a blatant violation of all international laws, treaties, and human rights. They come as a consequence of the failure of the Turkish-backed National Army mercenaries to advance on the resistance fronts of Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaqê Bridge. It is evident that these aggressive attacks mark an unprecedented escalation aimed at imposing new realities on the ground and creating field conditions that align with its occupation objectives.

We, in the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton, call on the international community, the UN Security Council, human rights organizations, and the United Nations to intervene and take firm measures against the Turkish occupation state for committing massacres and war crimes against humanity in our region. We also demand that these crimes be referred to the International Court of Justice and urge the international coalition to take immediate action to stop Turkey’s attacks on the Autonomous Administration areas, the city of Kobani in the Euphrates Canton, and the regions of North and East Syria.

The people of this region, who fought against the most dangerous terrorist organization on behalf of the entire world, are now facing genocide and massacres at the hands of the Turkish state. It is imperative to act swiftly to stop these assaults and prevent further crimes against our people.

Furthermore, we expect all Syrian national democratic forces to express their rejection of the Turkish occupation and its ongoing aggression and to respond positively to the calls for national dialogue launched by the Syrian Democratic Council. This dialogue is the path to ending the Turkish occupation and finding solutions to the stateless phase that Syria is currently experiencing.”
