On Tuesday, the Turkish police carried out a raid in the center of the city of Raha and its environs (Jarna Resh, Hawak and Weranchar), during which they arrested at least 14 people, including district administrators for the Equality and Peoples’ Democracy Party (DEM Partî) and also members of the Youth Council.

It is not yet known what the charges are against them, and there is concern that the number of ongoing arrests will rise and escalate in the context of the political genocide campaign pursued by the Turkish state.

The names of the detainees whose names are known are: “Muzaffar Akcan, Binyamin Demir, Shirin Aktaş, Leyla Daghan, Maysar Korkmaz, Kemal Çakmaq, Nuh Albayrak, the district administrator of the Equality and Peoples’ Democracy Party (DEM Partî), Hüseyin Aslan, Kemal Aslan, Mehmet Aslan, Mehmet Emin Açkgöz, Ismail Topkan, and Serhad Işilak, Aziz Tashken.
