The Mesopotamia Movement for Democratic Culture and Art has released a new music video titled “Farewell” in commemoration of the martyred journalists Cihan Belkîn and Nazım Daştan.

The lyrics and performance of the video are by artist Varan Dadmîr. It was recorded at Ş.Zanîn Studios and edited by Walat Saîd.

This five-minute video, which blends music and lyrics, sheds light on the sacrifices made by the Kurdish people in resisting the Turkish occupation, which remains one of the most significant threats to the Kurdish cause.

The artistic work reflects the depth of suffering and dedication exhibited by the Kurdish people in defending their identity and their cause. It serves as a call to intensify the struggle for the protection of their regions and the preservation of their culture and existence.

The video includes live footage and images of ANHA Agency’s correspondent, Cihan Belkîn, and journalist Nazım Daştan, who were martyred while covering Turkish occupation attacks on the Tishrin Dam on December 19 of last year.

Cihan and Daştan were targeted by a Turkish drone strike while fulfilling their journalistic duties—a stark example of the threats faced by media professionals and activists committed to revealing the truth and defending the rights of the Kurdish people.

At the beginning of the video, a message states that the work is a tribute to the martyrs Cihan and Nazım.

The lyrics sung by Varan emphasize the importance of continuing the struggle and unifying the ranks of all Kurdish components in the face of the dangers and challenges that threaten their culture and existence.

The piece delivers a poignant message advocating steadfastness and perseverance in the struggle for a freer and more independent future.

According to the publisher, all rights are reserved by TEV-ÇAND for the year 2025.
